Just Keep Swimming

There is a time in everyones live where things are just going to get difficult.

It could start off as school getting rough, maybe home isn’t as fun as it used to, relationships/people are changing, and everything just seems to go wrong. Just seems like every direction that you turn is always a wrong turn and everything seems to just go wrong. How do you continue and move forward?

I’ve been stuck in a place like this for quite sometime, and it’s not fun at all. Everyone has their own opinion on what to do. Go to the gym! Eat healthy! Etc, etc, etc… Everyone has their own version of how you should beat whatever is going on with you. Here is my take on it.

For whatever reason, there IS a reason for what you are going through. I don’t believe God sends challenges your way to see how quickly you will fail, but quite the opposite. This was the best lesson for me. When you pray for something, whatever it is, God doesn’t hand it to you and expect you to know what to do. He gives you opportunities for what you are praying for. If you pray for patience, he doesn’t magically through fairy dust and expect you to be patient, but the OPPORTUNITY for patience presents itself.

The lesson is Gods way of telling you, this is what you asked for. It’s not going to be pretty, it’s not going to be easy, but I can promise you it will be worth it. The beauty in the gift that is that opportunity. One of the biggest gifts He’s given to me lately is the opportunities of friendship. Whenever I fail, this friend is always there to remind me that it’s okay. Sounds like a simple saying that everyone virtually says, but there’s a peace behind their, “it’s okay.”

Life is going to get tough, there is no secret there. Our ability to take those tough moments, and learn from it, rather than allowing it to define us is the lesson God wants us to learn. Even when you’re swimming through the toughest waves, remember to just keep swimming. Because it’s not going to be easy, it’s not going to be fun, but I can promise you that it’s going to be worth it.
